Yamato was a Japanese member of the Atlantis expedition and Stackhouse's Atlantis Reconnaissance Team.

2004[]
After the return to normal gate operations following their suspension when it was believed that an Athosian was informing the Wraith of their missions. Yamato along with Dr. Rodney McKay helped drag the stunned Major John Sheppard back through the gate. He was also present during their capture of the Wraith Steve. (SGA: "Suspicion")
