Wraith finger cots were articulated metal rings that were worn on a Wraith's feeding hand.[4]
History[]
When the Atlantis expedition first encountered the Wraith, Dr. Carson Beckett observed a dismembered hand's finger cots with a magnification lens. The Wraith Keeper who fed on Colonel Marshall Sumner and the Wraith warrior who held down Major John Sheppard both wore finger cots. (SGA: "Rising")
A Wraith finger cot is one of the material components that make up the scabbard for Ronon Dex's sword.[5] (SGA: "Runner")

Notes[]
- The finger cots were meant to be like decorative rings. Art director and production designer James CD Robbins had wanted to give the Wraith culture, so little visual details like the finger cots would add depth.[1]
- According to Andee Frizzell, the actress who played various Hive queens and the Wraith Keeper, it was used to protect the Wraith's feeding hand, like how people use gear to protect vital parts of the body. When the hand was closed, the finger armor could provide protection against fingers from being cut off.[2]
