Valaway was a trial of ritual combat in a culture that Phoenix-1 had encountered. A champion from the village would face a champion of the accused. They would each wield a wooden staff with stone orbs at either end. The Valaway test would prove the accused as innocent.[1]
History[]
When a woman shouted that Phoenix-1 had to prove their innocence with the Valaway, the judge pointed out that they were outsiders that didn't know their ways and that such a test would be an execution. A'tir agreed to do it and was given a staff to use.[1] (RPG: "Core Rulebook")
