Development

On June 15, 2020, Gateworld reported that Brad Wright had been working on some sort of new project for the venerable sci-fi franchise for at least the past 18 months.[1] An update on November 21, 2020 from The Companion, Wright added that this was not a reboot, but a continuation and that the Covid-19 pandemic had slowed progress. [2]

In conversation with actor Michael Shanks on the podcast Brad Wright's Conversations in Sci-Fi, Wright mentioned that he had written the character of Daniel Jackson "more recently." [3]
