"I just want everybody to know that MGM and I are working on something. It’s just too early to talk about. And it’s partly too early because there is a pandemic going on. And that’s kind of ground a few things to a halt. But we are working on something. It’s very exciting. It’s something that we have been talking about for a while now. And I love it — I’m excited to have the possibility of making it someday soon. Or someday, period! I’ll say this much: It exists in the universe that you already know. It’s not a reboot, it’s not a completely new thing. It’s a continuation. And I’ll leave it at that. I’m not allowed to say anything more! I’m sworn to secrecy."
―Brad Wright

A Stargate television series is currently being developed by Brad Wright.

Plot[]

The series would follow the revealing of the Stargate Program.[1]

Development[]

On June 15, 2020, Gateworld reported that Brad Wright had been working on some sort of new project for the venerable sci-fi franchise for at least the past 18 months.[2] An update on November 21, 2020 from The Companion, Wright added that this was not a reboot, but a continuation and that the Covid-19 pandemic had slowed progress. [3]

In conversation with actor Michael Shanks on the podcast Brad Wright's Conversations in Sci-Fi, Wright mentioned that he had written the character of Daniel Jackson "more recently." [4]
