A University is an institution of higher learning that awards professional degrees.

Colonel Jack O'Neill complains that, in his opinion, the universities are lowering their standards and are accepting more people than they should, though it is equally possible he was setting his standards too high in light of Dr. Daniel Jackson's recent demise. (SG1: "Redemption, Part 1")
