The Translator is a handheld device that contains a library of every catalogued language available to Phoenix Site.[1]
History[]
Major General Philip Kevin Loyer approved Sonequa's request to develop a galactic translation program, which would allow teams to use portable computers in the field that could translate things relevant to their job, such as "Danger" or "Death Awaits". She asked Lanni and Phoenix Site linguists for direction on what to focus, full translation per language or keywords across several languages.[2]
The translator handheld device was part of the base equipment for diplomats of Phoenix teams.[3] (RPG: "Core Rulebook")
When a Phoenix team visited Alava, team members with translators could communicate with the Alavans, who spoke an archaic verion of the Basque language Euskara. (RPG: "The Eyes of the Storm")
