This planet is the current homeworld of the Tok'ra and also functions as the current military and governmental capital.
Description
The Tok'ra homeworld is a desert planet, that contains a large Goa'uld pyramid and an active Stargate. The planet also contains a large city, the capital of the Tok'ra, which is located close to the pyramid and the Stargate.
History
The Tok'ra homeworld is the location where the last of Ba'al's clones, presumably the last of the Goa'uld System Lords was finally extracted from his host. During the ceremony, the planet was heavily protected by parts of both the Free Jaffa Nation fleet as well as the Tok'ra fleet. SG-1, along with Major General Jack O'Neill, went to the planet to watch the Extraction Ceremony.
As the ceremony was being performed, Vala Mal Doran and Teal'c vanished. After them, the Tok'ra in the city and the city itself also began to vanish. Colonel Cameron Mitchell, Colonel Samantha Carter, and Dr. Daniel Jackson quickly rushed to the world's Stargate and dialed back to Earth. However, upon arriving on Earth they found themselves in an alternate timeline, where they learned that the original Ba'al was still alive and changing history.
When Mitchell went back in time and killed Ba'al the timeline was finally fixed, and everything reverted to normal. The last of Ba'al's clones was then extracted, finally bringing the reign of the System Lords to an end. (SG1: "Continuum")
Notes
- As the Tok'ra are physiologically the same species as the Goa'uld, they share their original homeworld, P3X-888, with them. Neither group appears to have any use for it anymore, however, and only "wild" Goa'uld, who never left the homeworld and who presumably hold no allegiance either to the Goa'uld Empire or to the Tok'ra, inhabit it now (along with fairly primitive, uninfested Unas, also native to the planet).
- It is unknown how long the Tok'ra have been in control of this, their current homeworld. Considering that until very recently, the Tok'ra have always operated as the hunted underground, constantly on the move and dispersed, the likely answer is not very long. It is probable they only settled a planet with an eye of making it their permanent, openly declared homeworld once the Goa'uld Empire had fallen (i.e., roughly around the time of "Threads").
- With all extant System Lords dead, the Goa'uld Empire in ruins, the Jaffa out of their servitude and unlikely to ever return to it, and most capital ships previously controlled by the Goa'uld either destroyed (infighting, Replicators, Tau'ri, etc.) or taken over by various other parties (Free Jaffa, Lucian Alliance) as of "Continuum," the previously dominant Imperial Goa'uld society is likely on the verge of extinction (if not extinct already, though various low-ranking Empire-aligned Goa'uld, as well as possibly some former Underlords, may remain alive). Even if holdouts persist, they appear to have few options but to sue for terms with those they used to oppress, or carve out a pocket domain and hope none of the new powers decide to move in and squash them. The feral Goa'uld on P3X-888 do not appear to have any sort of civilization, although they appear sapient at least when inside a host ("The First Ones").
- In this situation, it is probably fair to consider the former Tok'ra (who may need a new name for their nation, since "Against Ra" no longer seems very relevant) are now the dominant culture of their species, and their (probably) new home planet is now the closest thing to a species capital.
- The Tok'ra capital city has a crystalline appearance, suggesting the methods used in its construction may draw on the crystal-manipulation mastery that the Tok'ra used in the construction of the secret underground bases that have until recently (presumably until this city's construction) been the only home their kind knew.
