The Thunder Guards were Jaffa in the service of the Goa'uld Raiden. They served along with the Lightning Guards, with both groups training at a remote monastery in the mountains near the capital city of the planet Kyoto. They were equipped with advanced staff weapons known as Thunder staves which added a sonic blast to the standard staff weapon blast to sound like thunder.
