"I admit to being impressed by most of what I've read of Earth religions. The Torah, the Quran, the Talmud, the Bible… Most of them reveal a diverse and deep desire to grasp the divine."
Chaya Sar[src]

The Talmud are religious texts from Earth.

History[]

In 1998, when Teal'c underwent Cor-ai for the killing of Hanno's father Himilco, Hanno himself led the trial. When Colonel Jack O'Neill tried to request someone else to be in control of it, the Byrsa Elder stated that only the person who suffered understood the pain that had been inflicted. Who else could fairly set the punishment. Dr. Daniel Jackson found this to be rather Talmudic. Only the person who is wronged could forgive. (SG1: "Cor-ai")

In 2004, the Talmud was one of the religious texts that Chaya Sar read when she was given access to the Atlantis expedition's religious resources and their historical database. (SGA: "Sanctuary")

When Daniel talked about Lilith, he stated that according to Talmudic mythology, she was identified as the first wife of Adam. She refused to be subservient, invoked the name of God, then took to the air and left the garden of Eden. She settled on the coast of the Red Sea and became the consort of Samael and bore him countless Lilin. God, at Adam's request, sent to Lilith three angels, Senoy, Sansenoy, and Semangelof who ordered her to return to Adam. If she refused the angels would kill one hundred of her demonic children for each day she stayed away. Lilith countered that she and her lilin would prey eternally upon the sons of Adam. The Talmud further stated that such children could only be saved by invoking the names of the three angels. (SGA: "Blood Ties")
