Sam actually has been in nineteen ATL episodes, see Samantha Carter - List of Appearances, so she is a recurring character, not a one-shot. I changed the category. Peter R 20:27, 9 February 2006 (UTC) (I changed the number to reflect the final total. Myrrlyn (talk) (Contribs) 19:24, June 1, 2010 (UTC))

Where should one add trivia about the character? For example, that Samantha drive an old Volvo in several Season 5 episodes. Bashir 06:52, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Two areas;
  1. You can add a new section on trivia notes about the characters, or
  2. Add notes on the episodes in which she drove the Volvo on the notes section on those articles.

Mitchell

Hi guys,

I think there should be an article about Cam Mitchell. They are very close friends but there`s no word about him. my english is not the best so maybe one of you can write something :)

Question about her date of birth given In 'Ascension' her birthstone was emerald which is may, shouldnt that be taken as her birth month?--Escyos (talk) (Contribs) 06:54, May 12, 2010 (UTC)

Promotion to General

Is it wise to say that Carter is now General based on a video game? This game is based on SG-1 for sure but it seems to have a separate continuity. --LIMAFOX76 (talk) (Contribs) 14:46, June 1, 2010 (UTC)

User Rofocale put that part in the page. How do you know that Carter wasn't promoted to General, it could be in the game.TyphussJediVader (talk) (Contribs) 15:23, June 1, 2010 (UTC)
For the moment, the only place where Carter is located is the Hammond (SGU) even if we count the spoiler "Incursion, Part 1" not yet aired in US. The reference Rofocale used is Stargate Resistance which is a game and we know that games do not follow all the canon. I didn't see anywhere a spoiler describing the promotion --LIMAFOX76 (talk) (Contribs) 16:47, June 1, 2010 (UTC)

Resistance set in the future, but really sould we keep it? --Глючарина (talk) (Contribs) 16:53, June 1, 2010 (UTC)

I say no, only tv shows and movies should be used for such information. TV shows and movies are set in present, and there is no information that Carter have rank of General. Vilnisr T | C - 17:34, June 1, 2010 (UTC)
I agree. --LIMAFOX76 (talk) (Contribs) 07:25, June 2, 2010 (UTC)
I don't think we should relegate Resistance to an alternate timeline quite yet. I'm trying to find the link, but I remember reading an interview with some of the people who worked on the game and said that it takes place two or three years down the road from Atlantis season five and Continuum, which would be 2012 or so at the earliest. If and when we get to said point and see that Carter is not a general (in the movies or Universe), then we should not the discrepancy (per our forum canon discussion).
Addendum: Resistance chronological info. mentionedLenonn (talk) (Contribs) 22:47, June 5, 2010 (UTC)
Then, we must decide when SGR takes place. I myself, suggest 2012. I also added a comment asking whether or not SGR should be considered canon in Joe's blog —Supakillaii (talk) (Contribs) 17:29, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
It's actually not for us to decide, which was why I didn't originally place a date on it. I left the date the other user added because I thought they had a source, but I've been unable to find any. Additionally, the company themselves say they aren't pinning a time on it. The only info we have is "a few years after season 10" which is what we can currently state. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 17:36, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
I agree with you, we can't not decide the date and we can't just put down 2012 then say: that's the date for the game!.TyphussJediVader (talk) (Contribs) 17:41, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
Well, for now at least, we can use our good friend the ambiguously cannon tag! Sman789 (talk) (Contribs) 18:19, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
We only do that for things that don't have a known canon status, not for things we aren't keen on. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 18:33, June 7, 2010 (UTC)
Then let us wait 'til good Joseph answers, if he answers. —Supakillaii (talk) (Contribs) 21:19, June 7, 2010 (UTC
As far as the franchise at large is concerned, the "present" is Stargate Universe's timeline. In my honest opinion, the wiki information should follow the present canon. As Carter was clearly addressed as Colonel in Incursion, I believe the page should reflect that. Kanten (talk) (Contribs) 07:18, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
First, I apologize my idiocity above. And, since Joe hasn't answered to the question, I agree with Kanten. —Supakillaii (talk) (Contribs) 09:22, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
But Stargate Resistence is ambiguously canon. As far as I'm aware, no-one has said wheather the games are canon or not, have they? Sman789 (talk) (Contribs) 12:43, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
Well, I don't know about SGR, but SGW is canon... —Supakillaii (talk) (Contribs) 16:31, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
Resistance is essentially an online deathmatch game, there isn't a lot of "canon"-type material in there to speak of. That sign is more of an easter egg than anything. Furthermore, it takes place in "the future", so it's as relevant to the present canon about as much as the 2010 episode, more of a what-if than anything else. 98.222.6.143 00:41, June 26, 2010 (UTC)

So what do we do with it? Keep it? Remove it? Mark it as quasi-/non-canon? Raven's wing (talk) (Contribs) 19:42, August 18, 2010 (UTC)
