It was suggested in this episode that a Goa'uld can not survive without a host. Yet Egeria lived without a host for decades (though maybe it's different because she was a queen). Also, the original 'wild' Goa'uld clearly lived without hosts. So in what sense is this true? Do the Goa'uld lose their ability to survive without a host after they take one? Or is it just that without a host the Goa'uld lack their intellect? 05:50, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

It can live in water. Maybe they lied and Tollans didn't bother to check? --Глючарина (talk) (Contribs) 06:25, July 13, 2010 (UTC)
A mature symbiote needs a host. Young ones don't. Queens don't need one period, at least as long as they're spawning. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 07:02, July 13, 2010 (UTC)
Does this mean that, with the exception of queens, the wild Goa'uld would all die when they reached maturity?
