::whoa where'd the negativity come from? just offering my opinion on a suck edit. Escyos (talk) (Contribs) 07:07, October 17, 2010 (UTC)

Revision as of 07:07, 17 October 2010

Sources needed for David Rush's name change to Nicolas Rush (without the "H"). The reference in the article leads to Brad Wright's Q&A which doesn't discuss it. —Ka'lel 22:30, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Damn! I could have had a V8. (it's from a commercial if anyone didn't know).

He is NOT a smoker

Why the h*** do people keep putting in the text that he is a smoker?!? TJ tells him "You should see the smokers" and just after that he nods, clearly indicating that he agrees he cold be worse off, hence a smoker. It is pretty Obvious to anyone with just a little common sence. Unsigned comment by Anazonda (talk • contribs).

Until sources actually say otherwise, your statement is just a matter of opinion, therefore i've reverted it back User:Jenkins08/sig - - 10:49, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
I was under the impression that the look on his face and nod was an indication that he (was) both a smoker and a caffeine drinker before arriving on the ship? T1Cybernetic (talk) (Contribs) 12:07, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
So was i but that's besides the point really, if he actually said it then there would no dispute, but because it's just a "nod" i don't think that actually counts as a reliable source. Might be a good question to ask Joe :) User:Jenkins08/sig - - 12:11, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
I am almost 100% positive rush was a smoker, if you re'watch darkness the doctor does say he is having a double whammy (caffeine & smoking) All evidence points more towards him smoking than not. (Please don;t shoot me for re'checking though :p... T1Cybernetic (talk) (Contribs) 13:07, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
Actually i just re-watched the episode, he clearly says "Your looking at one" when T.J says "we've also got a few smokers onboard", She replies with "Ooo double whammy then" User:Jenkins08/sig - - 17:23, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
Also remember that clearly. 94.75.220.253 00:38, February 15, 2010 (UTC)
I Bow... Never noticed that last reference... And I've seen the episode a few times now... He must indeed be a smoker then...

A little thing...

I don't want to gall anybody, but I think he has a little accent. I'm not a native english speaker so I maybe wrong.

Rush (and Robert Carlyle, who plays him) is Scottish; he has a Scottish accent. Cheers. Kal'el T | C - 14:09, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. he mentioned the Glasgow shipyards... I forgot it.His accent likes Carson's from Atlantis. Anyway he's a good actor. when he rampageously talk about the Destiny's lack of energie is a great scene.

Real Reason for Dialing to the Destiny

Been looking at the episodes thus far and when Rush speaks of the Ancients he has a sense of awe and respect. He speaks of Ascension in Earth such that I think he may be seeking it for himself to that he may be with his wife. Unsigned comment by Pyroslev (talk • contribs). - 12:04, November 16, 2009 (EST)

Your custom signature didn't exactly work. Anyways, I agree. He's probably looking for a way to ascend or to somehow find the power to bring his wife back. However I don't see that happening. He could be similar to Jackson, who originally joined SG-1 to find his wife and remove the Goa'uld from her. Rush won't leave Destiny until he finds his wife. Stranded in Justice

I know he was stranded in the Justice episode but I was wondering will he going to be return to Destiny Expedition on the next few episode as his name appear in the episode Human and Subversion summary from the Universe Season 1 page. Also the alien ship that was found on Planet (Justice) might have a link to the next two episode Space and Divided. It could also be one of the few reason for Rush to return in the next few episode as the alien might help to transport Rush back to the Destiny. Evilness

I hate how they've made Rush be such an antagonistic force in the show. He seems more like the guy who has some serious social problems and, despite "needing a lot of work", you can get past that because he's good at what he does. I don't know... I use to like his character, but now not so much. Greer on the other hand... starting to like him more. And Eli is frankly annoying me with his youth... and weight. And, I mean, how is Col. Young not "devoted to the mission"... it's not like he's purposely sabotaging Rush's attempts to explore the ship. The only main thing Young has done is tell Rush not to use that damned chair. It just seems like the writers have made to big of a deal out of a problem that really shouldn't be that big based on what we've seen so far. Granted, also, Rush didn't take to kindly to being left on the planet, but he framed Young first to cause Young step down so that he could explore the scientific aspects of the ship relatively unhindered. Eh... just a little too much internal conflict for my liking... —Anubis 10545 (talk) (Contribs) 04:49, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

While both Rush and Young were straddling that moral line up to that point - Young a bit in the "right" and Rush a bit in the "immoral" - the second Rush framed Young to get him out of the picture, he took a huuuuuge step away from that line and completely changed their relationship. And I'm with you in believing that it's too much/far for a main character, who is so close to the protagonist(s), to be the antagonist. The show has been compared to BSG ad nauseam and this is another good opportunity to do so. In BSG, nearly every (if not all) character hovered around that line and often took turns being the antagonist. The only truly evil person I can recall (other than one-shot Cylon numbers) is Cavil and he was very much a side character. Also, Wray's sudden complete willingness to side with Rush seemed out of character. Hopefully they rectify this whole thing and somehow get back to how it was before. Greer, well I've liked him since his dialogue on the desert planet. Kal'el T | C - 05:33, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
He's some sort of House-style dude. "I know what to do, I am right, you are idiots, shut up. Even if I wrong I still right." --Глючарина (talk) (Contribs) 09:25, April 6, 2010 (UTC)
i hope at some point that the crew divide will reach the point where theres a battle and theyll all kill each other so they can give sga a decent ending ASDF1239 DISCUSSION 09:55, April 6, 2010 (UTC)

i dont see rush as being Evil i think he acts purely on logic apart from a few exceptions which all seem to be part of a bigger planBlueSquadron (talk) (Contribs) 13:17, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

Rush is not evil he is doing the right thing for the crew and the ship, he framed Young because he wasn't allowing Rush to study the chair.A scotsman (talk) (Contribs) 16:36, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Rush reminds me of the Vulcans

think about it. everything he has done up to date besides dialing Destiny has been logical. Everyone has dreams. He saw his chance and took it. Now it's basically apples and oranges. If Rush stopped Destiny again, it wouldn't have saved Riley. Rush wouldn't have been able to stop the power from being drained..—SupremeCommander (talk) (Contribs) 04:09, October 13, 2010 (UTC)

very emotional vulcan but a vulcan nonetheless he is seen as cold and calculating but i find him to be very logical and im actually very pleased to see a charachter like him finally emerge92.9.32.125 10:47, October 13, 2010 (UTC)

I'm not a big fan of Star Trek and therefore not an expert of Vulcans. He reminds me yearly John Locke from Lost - he so consumed by his "mission" that he's unable to notice needs of other people --Глючарина (talk) (Contribs) 14:56, October 13, 2010 (UTC)

anyone think the unnecessary block of text in the middle is useless. good job whoever wrote that, ever heard of headings or inputting pics. Escyos (talk) (Contribs) 05:49, October 17, 2010 (UTC)

still sucks. Escyos (talk) (Contribs) 06:41, October 17, 2010 (UTC)
