what might be the output off TNT in this. The first nuke they used (Goul'd buster) was 1000 magatons. may be the the mark VIII is 25 gigatons any guesses.
Mark IVs are only 10 gigatons and Mark VIIIs are way less powerful. I'm guessing maybe 2.5 Gigatons.-Ascended 999 21:03, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Are those figures purely guesses? They never stated what those weapon yields are on screen, at best the gate buster, was a multi-gigaton weapon, and the "goa'uld buster" was in excess of 1000 megotons, once they quoted the asteroid destroyer one as being 1200 megatons, though it was never actually detonated. Mass missile launch[]
In the episode no man's land, Caldwell said to get all missile tubes laoded up with Mark III warheads, not Mark VIII warheads. This was also said to be all of their nuclear weapons, so at least at this point in time, it was loaded up with Mark III warheads, not Mark VIII warheads, so the one that hit the wraith ship, and severely damaged it, was not Naquadah enhanced.74.129.66.59 02:26, July 1, 2010 (UTC)
Was there another episode where the Mk. 8 actually struck the hull of a wraith vessel? If not saying that it takes multiple to destroy a wraith ship is inaccurate information and purely a guess. As I recall, though I admit I may have forgotten, all other missiles fired at wraith vesssels were intercepted. So saying a mk 8 is insuffient it a guess, or is there a different episode?
