I have ain issue I wouldnt mind being cleared up. This relates to a few different things. Basically, to both the origin of that beaming technology, I cant watch the initial episode where they tested the weapons on the Wraith ships, or the one where they get assistance from a Wraith in trying to break the code, but I think their is a reference to the Ancients using the technology from the Wraith.

This could be explained in a few ways, first, that the ancients developed it late in the war, and it was their attempt at an application, Asgard got it through study of Anceint knowledge. Second, that the Asgard, the Ida faction, could have let them have the technology in some form of trade, perhaps for access to Anceint Databases, which Asgard are known to have information from.

Also the Vanir make no attempt at applying the technology in their raid on Atlantis, it would be far easier, they could have at least teleported on the way out, and most likely teleported on the way in. Saved their comrade who succumbed to gunfire, definetly. We dont know at what point the Asgard began using the technology, all we know is that in some form it was used in Thor's Hammer, and that would date back at least a few generations, perhaps to the treaty with the Goa'uld, which we dont know the date of. We do know that Merlin used the technology in his outposts. 74.129.75.153 23:08, January 26, 2010 (UTC)\

well, the vanir could have used the beaming initially when fighting the wraith which is why they developed the codes but lost it afterwards —ASDF1239 DISCUSSION 03:16, March 22, 2010 (UTC)
They did not even have resources to rebuild their intergalactic ships. They most likely did not have access to any neutronium deposits and they were to paranoid to seize any planety with such desirable resource. It´s very probable they can build much of technology on level ancients had 10000 years ago. They are just afraid to venture to galaxy and claim them.
