Asgard Energy Weapon

The Prometheus did not have energy weapons. Every time that it is added to any article that it did... it will, without a doubt be reverted...—Anubis 10545 23:30, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi Anubis :) Thor did say that he was there to install Asgard Designed shields and weapons aboard Prometheus...this brings 2 possabilities

A, The Asgard developed our railgun technology a lot further along than it was...which could be supported by the fact that they now can fire at Mach 5 with 10,000 rounds per magazine. So they did install weapons...just not energy weapons that could threaten them.

B, They did install an energy weapon.....but they took it away later for some reason eg: that it did'nt work well aboard ship

I prefer the railguns answer myself...sounds more plausable--Jnadreth (talk) (Contribs) 20:40, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

Colonel Ronson did say "Charge the Primary weapons system" in Memento....Energy Weapons have to be charged;)--Jnadreth (talk) (Contribs) 21:28, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

He also could have refereed to the mechanisms needed to launch missiles. Although the writers probably just needed him to say something that sounded dramatic... :) —Anubis 10545 (talk) (Contribs) 01:43, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

This article is, quite simply, wrong.

The Article's title is "Ion gun". Yet the article deals with all forms of Asgard weaponry. The only Asgard weapons named Ion gun, are the energy weapons on board the Biliskner, and The O'Neill, and possibly The Daniel Jackson. Asgard plasma beam weapons, are the prime example of this article's misunderstanding, as they are not ion weapons, but plasma weapons. And the pulse weapon they loaned to the SGC, is also not called ion gun. To put it simply, just as putting missiles and machine guns, under the Railgun article would make no sense, neither does this article.

When I have the time I will make a new Article titled "Asgard weaponry" dealing with all Asgard weapons, from disruptors to the galaxy-class lasers and edit this article to deal with just the ion guns. If there is no objection? Uriel718 (talk) (Contribs) 18:58, March 23, 2010 (UTC)

you could simply change the article to only deal with these specific weapons. ASDF1239 DISCUSSION 18:55, March 23, 2010 (UTC)
It seems like the best thing to do would be so simply create a heading titled something along the lines of "Other energy weapons"... as I'm not really sure how Ion guns relate to other asgard energy weapons. Jaymach was the one who moved the page to "Ion gun" initially... someone should ask him... —Anubis 10545 (talk) (Contribs) 02:50, March 24, 2010 (UTC)
the title was given by one of the incredibly accurate dvd magazines ASDF1239 DISCUSSION 03:20, March 24, 2010 (UTC)
