MacGyver[]
In the MacGyver episode A Wing and a Prayer, MacGyver (Richard Dean Anderson) literally uses a garage door opener as a remote control to start Jack's plane so that they can escape from Peruvian terrorists.

Iris[]
It says in the article that the GDO opens the iris. However from what I recall seeing, the gate technician identifies the iris code and then chooses to open the iris. Shouldn't this be changed? 58.110.182.64 02:59, July 3, 2011 (UTC)
Code before connection[]
How come in the two first seasons they can see which team is coming BEFORE the gate has connected? :p And it's not just one time this occurs. One I remember is, 2x10 Bane, in which they know it's SG-1 some time before the gate connects. 46.246.67.98 00:43, November 14, 2012 (UTC)kruppin
- Maybe there's some kind of "micro-wormhole" that's established (without the light, sound, or ka-woosh) that shows up a bit before the larger one, that EM signals can travel through but not matter?? Jimw338 (talk) (Contribs) 06:08, April 28, 2016 (UTC)
was it really called that?[]
Did someone jokingly call it "Garage Door Opener" in one episode? In Star Gate Atlantis they call it an IDC. I assume that's the official name. Dream Focus 02:54, October 18, 2016 (UTC)
