how did tanith escape the base? when he collapsed there were like 3 armed guards there and he was lying down sooo ASDF1239 DISCUSSION 23:01, March 29, 2010 (UTC)
There's a seriously huge Cannon issue i think. the given speed of a death glider is 12,000 KPH, yet the Hat'ak is much farther away than is viably possible for the Death Gliders to have gone that distance if the Stargate was to impact the star at 5% light speed. just to give an example, flying flat out the DG would take aprox. 32 hours to go from Earth to the Moon. The "goof" mentioned is not correct. Even in the episode where they dialed the planet with the black hole from the SGC, it took some time before the time dilation effects were even felt. It was very obvious that they were spreading at a certain pace, and were absolutely not immediate. So, the part with everything they managed to and shouldn't have is wrong, since they did it immediately after opening the gate.62.245.69.24 20:45, February 15, 2014 (UTC)
- Agreed. It makes the assumption that the gravitational effects propagate immediately through the wormhole. However, in both episodes the effect does not appear instantaneous, and it’s conceivable there could be some lag. Also, the plan would still work despite time dilation, as the gate does not have to draw matter into the intensely time dilated field, but just to pull it away from the star enough to cause the explosion. (The real goof is the idea that drawing material from the star as described would cause it to supernova, and that it would explode out at “nearly the speed of light”.)
