Dialing laptop.

by the year 2007 Tau'ri understanding of the stargate and dialing had advanced to the point that a dialing program could be installed on a laptop and dial an off world stargate, without manually rotating the gate.

Bad Guys Screenplay:

VALA (CONT’D): Well, when we fail to make the scheduled check-in, General Landry will dial in, and which point we'll ask him to send a Naquadah generator and a laptop with the dialing program, and that's that. -- User:Uriel718 19:37, 21 April 2009

This Article should be rewritten!

This article should be rewritten to more updated status. Currently we have seen three very diffrent dialing computers: The SGC dialing computer, the dialing laptop (from Bad Guys), and the dialing program used on the Odyssey (in the Pegasus project) in this version they were even able to dial a "spacegate" which implies that they used a device similar to the Stargate power node. With all these advancements its unreasonable to assume that the SGC dialing computer would still manualy rotate the gate. -- User:Uriel718 01:37, 30 May 2009

Dialing is misspelled, it should be dialing not dialling. Zeta1127 of the 89th Legion (talk) 18:53, December 7, 2010 (UTC)

Actually both of them are correct. Dialing is American English and Dialling is non−American English. However since both are correct and everyone understands them, it is really all the same. So no need to undo the edits, incase someone is considering to do so.—Uriel718 (talk) (Contribs) 11:52, December 8, 2010 (UTC)
Everywhere else to my knowledge had the dialing spelling, so it seems in everyone's best interest to use the dialing spelling, and besides I can't stand it when things are spelled wrong from my point of view. Zeta1127 of the 89th Legion (talk) 13:59, December 8, 2010 (UTC)
Yes, well as I said it makes no difference which spelling you use. However for future reference, since this wiki has a pretty wide popularity and we have members from all over the planet, you will come across alot of spellings that may seem wrong from your point of view. But remember, in this wiki we accept all dialects and regional varieties of the english language. --Uriel718 (talk) (Contribs) 16:15, December 8, 2010 (UTC)
Well, it looks rather unprofessional when it is spelled dialing on the Stargate article and was spelled dialling here, so I picked the American version. Zeta1127 of the 89th Legion (talk) 22:11, December 8, 2010 (UTC)
Also the show has consistently used American English as evidenced by Travelers instead of Travellers. Lowriders95s10 (talk) (Contribs) 23:48, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

discrepancies in the text[]

The texk in the beginning of this post contradicts the SG1 Tv series

The Dialing computer is a system created by the Tau'ri to allow dialing Earth's Stargate in the absence of its Dial Home Device, which was deliberately left behind by Dr. Ernest Littlefield when the Alpha Gate was transported from Egypt to the United States of America. (RPG: "Fantastic Frontiers: Stargate Season One")

1. according to the series the DHD was not found near the Gate when the gate was found in 1928

2. The gate was not found by Ernest Littlefield but was found by Catherine Langfords father Paul Langford

3. Ernest Littlefield worked on the stargate program in 1945 under Paul langford and was Catherine Langfords fiancée and they where probably around the same age since they where both alive in 1997 witch would have made Ernest between 9 - 15 years in 1928.
