Error
The M16, M16A3, and M4A1 are different rifles. The M16 rifle was the first in the M16 series. It was originally adopted by the U.S. Air Force(1963?). The M16A1, produced in 1967, is an improved version on the M16. The M16A2 was requested by the USMC after the Vietnam war. The M16A3 is a fully-automatic variant of the M16A2. The M16A4 is the standard issue rifle for the Marine Corps. The M4 is not a variant of the M16 it is a derivative. The M4A1 is a fully-automatic variant of the M4. This page about the 'Colt M16A3 rifle'(actually just called the M16A3) is about many different weapons. There should be a page for the M16 and its variants and a page for the M4 and its variants.
