Move[]
Similar to the A-10 move. American military helos are named after American Indian tribes (Apache, Chinook, Kiowa), and in this case, an individual. Specifically, the UH-60 Black Hawk is named after the Sauk chieftain Black Hawk. SpartHawg948 (talk) (Contribs) 05:25, September 29, 2010 (UTC)
- It's named the Blackhawk in the official screenplay for Rising. As such, this is the official Stargate name for the craft. We do not go with real world facts on this wiki, we use purely Stargate ones. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 07:38, September 29, 2010 (UTC)
- Wowee! No need for forceful italics or anything! A simple "It's Blackhawk in the official screenplay, so that's what it is here" would work just fine. The "We do not go with real world facts on this wiki" thing was a bit much... SpartHawg948 (talk) (Contribs) 08:37, September 29, 2010 (UTC)
- I simply used the italics because I had stated the reason for the change of name in the move summary. We have many users here who try to add real world information to articles, which simply isn't the purpose of this wiki. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 17:54, September 29, 2010 (UTC)
- Fair enough, though it would be nice if it weren't simply assumed that I was one of those users. A little benefit of the doubt goes a long way. SpartHawg948 (talk) (Contribs) 20:36, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

- Hold on, I saw no such helo in Rising. That's certainly not what Sheppard was piloting in that ferry flight with O'Neill. And another thing, the USAF does not fly "Black Hawks". It uses the HH-60 rescue variant designated as the "Pave Hawk".Ryan Fruto (talk) (Contribs) 00:29, March 11, 2012 (UTC)
- I'm afraid that, as stated above, we go with what a Stargate source calls things rather than their real world names. There have been several times that a Stargate source has named something incorrectly, but we have to go with what we're given. It's entirely possible that, in the Stargate universe, some things are simply named differently. Feel free to add a behind the scenes section, however, pointing out the mistake. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 21:27, March 11, 2012 (UTC)
