Hold on a second. When the Beta gate was first discovered by Carter and O'Neill, the DHD had shown the gate's point of origin was

0eb

the glyph shown here.

But when the alpha gate was beamed aboard by the Biliskner (if I recall) and the Beta gate was put into use by the SGC, the Beta gate's point of origin had changed and became the point of origin found on the Giza stargate.

Can somebody please explain this to me?

I believe this particular idea is explained in the behind the scenes section of this article, which says that the (original) prop was probably reused. So just a production issue I suppose rather than having a canon explanation. —Wellslogan (talk) (Contribs) 20:40, January 22, 2010 (UTC)

Oh. Well that certainly explains a bit.

  • Isn't the symbol itself supposed to be shaped like a Stargate with a DHD. Probably because this was the first gate of the model model with a DHD so they wanted to show it in the symbol.

The Point of Origin is WRONG!!!![]

The original Terra's Stargate (Beta Gate) has a CYRCLE, not an OCTAGON, as part of the point of origin (see S01E: Solitudes).

I guess you mean circle, right? Sman789 (talk) (Contribs) 21:46, February 20, 2010 (UTC)

YES![]

Sorry about the "Y", but yes. It's a perfect circle

Age?[]

If I am not mistaken Carter only assumed that the anylassis is corret and it has never been proven that the gate is more than 5 million years old (although I guess there is not other confirmation as to its age) I'm just wondering as to weather or not there is any other sources other than Carter's Statement Oberoth20 (talk) (Contribs) 20:37, April 10, 2012 (UTC)

the PoO implications[]

AS we know, this gate is not the only example of the Ancients using the Giza Gate symbol as the Earth Point of Origin...

So... I postulate that the guy from the audience in the film was unknowingly, in a very roundabout way, right. We know the Goa'uld had the egyptians build pyramids, and not just them to boot. But here's the thing: Why Pyramids? I don't mean for "us", I mean for the Goa'uld. Why pyramid ships? We know the Gate and Rings are both ancient technology. Perhaps the Goa'uld got the... pyramids... from them... holy crap, the ancients are (in a way) responsible for the pyramids of giza! Men From Atlantis!

Heh.

Hey, here's another idea: when the people from atlantis were coming home, they were walking right into pre-goa'uld earth... and some blended in and all that. So what if, say, at least one slave was a descendant... of... heh, well, that'd be an ironic thing for sure AlexMcpherson (talk) (Contribs) 09:42, March 29, 2013 (UTC)
