::::The gateship's hyperdrive was not damaged by its first jump; the drive was only limited by power availability. Conversely, there is no legitimate evidence supporting the theory that the Asuran satellite was capable of a second jump. Even if the gateship's hyperdrive was exclusively one-shot, it is still both smaller than the satellite and capable of interstellar travel.

Chevrons

Has anyone noticed that the Stargate on the satellite only has 8 chevrons? --Asgard Forever, 19:41, January 7, 2008

Yeah I mentioned this on the talk for Stargates. But for extra extra-ness http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stargate_%28device%29 Unsigned comment by 155.8.89.2 (talk • contribs).

its also already there in the article at the bottom: "The eight chevron Stargate built into the satellite was specifically designed by the Asurans to override the normal wormhole system of the Stargate network and assert itself as the dominant Stargate of a planet so as to prevent the beam from travelling through Atlantis's gate instead of the satellite's, which would have simply impacted with the Stargate's shield or shot out of the control tower and harmlessly into the sky (though the former seems more likely"

The "specifically designed" part turned out to be incorrect, as the Spacegate that Shepard's team returned to Atlantis through when the artificially ascended Weir was overloading their Puddlejumpers systems in the episode "Ghost in the Machine" also had only eight chevrons. - Bell'Orso 17:18, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
Are we even sure that the asuran satelite has only 8 chevrons? i know. we can tell that it is made by asurans and thus yes but we cannot argue with "it had only eight chevrons" many space gates in SGA and even gate from milky way have only eight chevrons (SGA 3x10). in my opinion it is only bad 3D model and animators didnt noticed it. For exampel, here are episodes where i noticed gate with 8 chevrons (SGA: "The Return, Part 1") ,(SGA: "Be All My Sins Remember'd") and (SGA: "Ghost in the Machine") . It makes 1 milky way gate and 4 pegasus gates with 8 chev if we count satelite too. What is your opinion?--ScorpiO 14:56, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure if this is one of the ones you mentioned, but in the image showing the milky way through the two stargates of the unfinished midway station (it's in the gallery on the Midway Station page) the pegasus gate clearly only has 8 chevrons as well. Since the Tau'ri harvested space gates to build it, it may be that all space gates only have 8. They dont really need a 9th chevron, theres no exit from the Destiny's gate room for ships. -- Tobbsdasock 16:31, 08 September 2009

hey i'm not here to talk about the chevrons but what happen to the satellite after the Atlantens defeat the Asurans

Is there any reason why people keep taking this image off the article?—Anubis 10545 04:31, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

The satellite fires at the Apollo

Absolutely not, I have no idea why certain userskeep doing that. I just reverted the edits done by an anon user, putting the image back in. If those users who keep removing the image read this, let me explain why this image is to be kept; it IS RELEVANT to the satellite, it has the satellite in it, firing its beam, showing its power. How could this not be so relevant? Seriously? Plus, they say the reason is because that image is already on the Apollo article. However, we have several images that are on more than one article anyway, for instance this image for starters. -- Matthew R Dunn 10:06, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

supreme commander

although i do not play the game ive noticed that the satellite has a striking resemblance to something in supreme commander, see [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbBs87-8XgA#t=29s here, i believe this should be added to the article ASDF1239 DISCUSSION 13:40, June 12, 2010 (UTC)

Smallest vessel with hyperspace travel?

The article claims that this satellite is "the smallest vessel capable of sustained hyperspace travel ever encountered by the Tau'ri", however the gateship with hyperspace capability was considerably smaller. Such a claim is both unsupported by lack of visual evidence, and lack of substantial evidence presented in-universe; if no one can substantiate it, I'm going to remove it. AlteranScientist (talk) (Contribs) 01:23, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

Read again: "sustained hyperspace travel." The gateship couldn't do more than a roundtrip over a short distance. The satellite got all the way to the planet. — Trust not the Penguin (T | C) 01:47, June 4, 2011 (UTC)

The gateship's hyperdrive was not damaged by its first jump; the drive was only limited by power availability. Conversely, there is no legitimate evidence supporting the theory that the Asuran satellite was capable of a second jump.
