This article has a blatant error. The Aschen do explore space, in their space ships. Thats how they arrived on the farming world in the first place, the gate was discovered later, that was specifically stated. Obviously they do explore space and what little of the gate system they can get to. They may explore as much as the SGC does, but they are in a different situation then the Tau'ri are. It is unknown to what extent they do explore, they may leave the area that they can dial to in hope of discovering the location of gates and information to allow them to gate to more distant regions. Them saying the Tau'ri were natural explorers was both a compliment, to spark up the diplomatic relations, as well as saying the Tau'ri were useful to the aschen, and thats why they want an alliance, not just to get coordinates, so they can also cover up what they plan on doing to earth(long term extermination, through drugs).
