Is it just me, or does the suit look like the MJOILNER Mark V suits from Halo? —Unsigned comment by 64.7.166.10 (talk • contribs).
- No, that's pretty much just you. Other than the fact that they're both advanced suits of armour, they look nothing alike. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 22:42, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
- I agree...—Anubis 10545 23:55, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
Destiny crew wears this suits. You saw it too, not only me, right? --╔▲╠☼╚╡∩║▀⌠⅜⌡├┤∩ 17:50, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- They do look similar... but I doubt they're actually the same suits. Plus, you can actually see their faces while they wear it, opposed to being completely covered.—Anubis 10545 18:00, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- The Lost Tribe didn't know about Janus' lab or they'd have found and used the control key for the Attero device long ago. The suits may not have been designed by them, but from the looks of the rest of their technology I'd say they were. I'm not saying you're wrong, as there's a chance the two suits could be related, but it's unlikely. —Ka'lel 21:23, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- OK, so we'll see. My theory can explain why Rodney and Daniel fit in this suits --╔▲╠☼╚╡∩║▀⌠⅜⌡├┤∩ 21:30, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- They said, though,: "From what I could tell, the inside of the suits form around whoever's in them." —Anubis 10545 21:34, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, but in his defense, they were large enough to fit humans, which would be a weird design choice if they were created by the Asgard. And the suits don't actually change size, just the innards do to wrap around the occupant. Looking at them, one would assume they weren't built by the Asgard. But we're thinking inside the episodes. Thinking from a real world perspective, the suits were obviously a design choice to make the fact that they were Asgard a surprise, putting aside the fact that that plot point was spoiled long before the episode aired. Also thinking from a real world perspective, Sci-Fi shows, SG-1/SGA included, have a tendency to forget previous technologies. First Contact/Lost Tribe were pretty standalone episodes, unlikely to be referenced again, let alone in a completely different series. THAT said, they did bring back the long-range communication device for an SGA episode... Long argument short, I can see where Глючарина is coming from, given the size of the suits it's possible they were designed by Ancients, but I'm leaning towards there being no connection between them. —Ka'lel 21:44, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- If you compare the two suits, you'll notice that both suits (in out-of-universe terms) contain same prob pieces, for istance the "shoulder plates" were either entirly reused, or recreated from an older schematic. In-in-universe terms it could be that the suits the Vanir used were really, really old. It is entirely plausible that they brought the suits with them to the Pegasus galaxy, as we know the Asgard have studied Ancient tech for a very long time. Or that like the long-range communication device the Ancients kept some of their older tech, but eventually they were lost. —Uriel718 16:30, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

There is a difference between the suits sed by the Vanir and the Destiny, the Vanir's suits massively increaed an Asgards physical strengh as they were easily able to march Daniel Jackson and Rodney McKay around Janus's outpost :) Also that Destiny's suits were easily damaged as LT Scott found out while the Vanir dropped through a few floors of Atlantis with only minor damage to their armour. The suits probably only share a visual similarity rather than a technological one ;)—Jnadreth (talk) (Contribs) 03:24, November 1, 2009 (UTC)
For the discussion about their size above, it could just be that a 4-foot tall Asgard in a 4-foot tall suit isn't really intimidating. Therefore, they made the suits roughly the size of a Wraith to make themselves look even more formidable. —Anubis 10545 (talk) (Contribs) 03:31, November 1, 2009 (UTC)
Upon comparing the Ancient and Vanir suits, they look EXACTLY the same, except for the helmet. However, as stated above, they don't function exactly the same. Still, though, it is likely due to props being recycled. —Anubis 10545 (talk) (Contribs) 04:08, November 1, 2009 (UTC)
- or it could be the result of the vanirs use of ancient technology, reverse engineered and the whatnot. . . correct me if i am wrong but they did study ancient technology didnt they? and their suits and ships share some design simlarities with some ancient tech. ralok (talk) (Contribs) 05:50, October 15, 2010 (UTC)
