Suit, Contamination Avoidance and Liquid Protective

Suit, Contamination Avoidance and Liquid Protective (SCALP) was an overgarment made of composite materials, which could be worn over a Chemical Protective Overgarment, Battledress Overgarment, or an NBC suit to provide extra protection.[1]

When worn on its own, it could provide some protection against liquid chemical and biological agents, as well as radioactivity.[4]

Once removed from its bag, it could protect the wearer for a duration of fourteen days unless exposed to an agent the suit protected against. If exposed, the suit would only be effective for six hours from the moment of contact.[4]
