Subcutaneous locator beacons are beacons implanted under the skin of an individual, allowing them to be targeted by Asgard transporters or tracked with handheld devices. The devices came into production to be used by SG teams after Daniel Jackson was captured on Tegalus and separated from his locator beacon. They are manufactured by Devlin Medical Technologies. The beacons may also be able to transmit an IDC to a base computer for opening of the Iris. This has yet, however, to be confirmed.
