"I mean, it makes string theory look like non-linear dynamics."
Rodney McKay[src]

String theory is supposedly a unified theory of everything that connects the natural forces; gravity to the strong and weak nuclear forces, and electromagnetism. The theory states that space-time has more than four dimensions, and that some of the dimensions are exceedingly small and string-like in shape. Elementary particles in string theory are understood as standing waves in such space-time strings, rather than as point-like objects.

While implementing a hyperdrive generator on a Puddle Jumper, Dr. Rodney McKay compared how difficult it was to string theory. (SGA: "Lifeline")
