Stargate Special Ops is a web-based game based on the Stargate universe created by MGM. At the beginning of 2009 the game entered a hiatus and in March 2009 a new "mission" was introduced related to (and in preparation of) Stargate Universe. The "mission briefing" stated, "After this mission is complete, Special Ops will return to it's break from issuing missions. Special Ops will only be dark temporarily, so stay alert as we may call on you for additional missions." However, before the launch of Stargate Universe, the MGM website was redesigned and the Special Ops link became inactive. There has been no word since March 2009 on whether or not Special Ops will return.
