Stargate SG-1: Transitions is a novel by Fandemonium, which was written by Sabine C. Bauer.

The events depicted in this adventure take place during the seasonal break between season eight (Moebius) and season nine (Avalon) of Stargate SG-1.

“Uh…”

Oh damn, he knew that frown. She was about to techno-babble. Given the way his head felt, he probably wouldn’t survive that. “Twenty-five words or less, and no more than three syllables each, Carter!”

“Jack! Sam!” Daniel came climbing over the mounds of rubble, Teal’c in his wake. They looked a little singed around the edges, but otherwise seemed to be in full working order. “You guys okay?” gasped Daniel. “What the hell happened?”

“That’s what I’m trying to find out. Carter!”

“When the missile struck the car, the blast took out the gas pumps and set off whatever fuel was left in the underground tanks. Twenty-four words, sir.” She grinned. “There was a chance that some of the shrapnel might hit the chopper, but I hadn’t actually dared count on it. I guess there was a little more gas in those tanks than I’d thought…”

Mistakes

Acording to the novel Atlantis was built approx. 30,000,000b.c.e. However the show Stargate Atlantis states that Atlantis left for the Pegasus Galaxy between 10-5 milion years prior to the present day. Amara was stated to have been left behind when Atlantis left. However Atlantis is stated in the novel to have left Earth 30 million years ago and Amara is said to have went into stasis after that and awoken ten thousand years later by the N.I.D. This would put Amara being awoken approx 29,990,000b.c.e. This could not have occurred as such the N.I.D and even the Tau'ri did not exist by this point. This is a serious mathematical error.
The events taking place on Earth is set between season eight finale, where Brigadier General Jack O'Neill was running the SGC, and season nine premier, where SGC leadership was succeeded by Major General Hank Landry. Colonel Cameron Mitchell has not joined SG-1 as he was not mention throughout the story. However, the events taking place simultaneously on Atlantis occurs during season 2, between episode 15 (The Tower) and 16 (The Long Goodbye) - Rodney remembering being trapped in a sinking Puddle Jumper (Grace Under Pressure, episode 14), Ronon being part of the team (Runner, episode 3), Colonel Steven Caldwell temporarily removed from command and is being questioned and reviewed by the IOA after being implanted with a Goa'uld symbiot by the Trust (Critical Mass, episode 13). He only returns to command of Daedalus in The Long Goodbye. Therefore, there is a major timeline discrepancy (Stargate SG-1 season 8 runs simultaneously as Stargate Atlantis season 1, as with all subsequent seasons).
Wraith Hive ships do not have energy shields as stated in the plot. As Dr. Rodney McKay puts it (Enemy at the Gate), "Inefficient power generation is the Achilles' heel of Wraith technology", thus making any Wraith shield if deployed ineffective against even weak energy and projectile weapons fire. In replacement, Wraiths protect their Hive ships through hull regeneration. Since hive ships are biological, the skin of the ship grows thicker while hull breaches 'heals', just like human physiology.
As a solution to purge the computer virus from the Atlantis mainframe, the scientists attempted to beam the "photon based" virus out of Atlantis and onto the Hive ship. This is not possible as the Wraith en route to attacking Atlantis in The Siege III created jamming signals to prevent beaming-transport into and out of the ship. Despite the competitive clan-like nature of the Wraith, this signal was shared among all Wraith clans.
