Stargate Atlantis is a TV spin-off from Stargate SG-1.
Background
Atlantis is the Lost City of the Ancients. In the series Stargate SG-1, our heros discovered how to get to Atlantis, but the power requirements to get there made it a one-time, one-way trip.
It required the SGC a near-full ZPM (Zero Point Module) to power the Stargate to get to Atlantis, as it is located in another galaxy, The Pegasus Galaxy.
