Spruance

The Spruance was a United States Navy destroyer which, as of 2004, was assigned to the Nimitz battle group.

History[]

At the beginning of the Battle of Antarctica she reported to President Henry Hayes that the battle group had come under fire from Anubis' orbiting Ha'taks, and that the Nimitz had been destroyed. All contact was lost shortly thereafter and the Spruance was presumed sunk with all hands. (SG1: "Lost City, Part 2")

Behind the scenes[]

The real USS Spruance served in the US Navy from 1973 to 2005, and was sunk as a target in 2006.
