The Skirmish on Abydos was an event that took place in 1997 during the Tau'ri-Goa'uld War.
Prelude[]
The appearance of Apophis in Stargate Command and the revealing of the fact that Dr. Daniel Jackson and the people of Abydos surviving causes Major General George S. Hammond to send another team to Abydos led by Colonel Jack O'Neill and including Captain Samantha Carter, Major Charles Kawalsky and Major Louis Ferretti.[1]

As the team is shown a massive cartouche of Stargate addresses, Apophis and his men arrive through the Stargate on another hunt for hosts. The Earth team and the Abydonian militia engage the Jaffa, but are defeated. Skaara tries to stop them from taking Sha're and is captured by Teal'c who is interested in him as he's using an Earth weapon and he and Sha're are taken through the Stargate, but Ferretti, badly injured but still conscious, manages to see the Stargate address Apophis dials.[1]
Aftermath[]
As a result of the attack, Jackson willingly albeit reluctantly returns to Earth in hopes of being able to rescue Sha're and Skaara.[1]
