Simon is Elizabeth Wiers fiancee, whom she left when she took command of the Atlantis Expedition. She later told him to move on in a recorded message sent to him from Atlantis (ATL: "Letters from Pegasus"). When she briefly returned to Earth she found out that he had taken her up on that, and found someone else (ATL: "The Intruder").
