Doctor Simms was the Chief Medical Officer on Icarus Base. Lt. Tamara Johansen reported to him.

2009[]
In 2009, when the base fell under attack from the Lucian Alliance, Simms was mortally wounded while helping people on the surface; he suffered from a neck injury during the evacuation and bled out. He died while TJ attempted to revive him. Colonel Everett Young told her there was nothing she could do for him, and they left Simms behind. Since his death the chief medical officer responsibility fell into TJ's hands while they are stranded on board the Destiny. (SGU: "Air, Part 1")
