Simian is a criminal from the planet Rillaan.
Biography[]
Background information[]
Simian gradually lost his sight due to some unknown malefactor. This disability caused him to become vagrant. (SG1: "Prisoners")
1998[]
Simian was sentenced to life imprisonment on the planet Hadante for the crime of stealing food. He arrived on Hadante shortly after SG-1, following the "escape attempt" of Roshure and two other prisoners who faced the unstable vortex generated by the wormhole he arrived in.
After a scuffle that resulted in the death of prison honcho Vishnoor, Simian was healed of his blindness by Linea. Instead of being grateful, he fearfully fled Linea's presence when he realized who she was.
Later, while most of the prisoners were eating, Simian chanced upon SG-1 and Linea escaping through the stargate and followed through himself. On P2A-509, Major Carl Warren found him sneaking around and brought him to Stargate Command. In the presence of Colonel Jack O'Neill and Major General George S. Hammond he revealed why he ran away from Linea when she cured him: she was actually known as the Destroyer of Worlds, and contrary to her claim that she tried to cure a plague she actually caused it, which wiped out half of his world before she was caught. (SG1: "Prisoners")
