Shiana is the Representative of the planet Santhal to the Coalition of Planets.

She was part of a three-person council that put the Atlantis expedition on trial for charges of committing crimes against the inhabitants of the Pegasus galaxy, namely the deaths of over 2 million people either directly or indirectly. She had a personal prejudice with regard to the trial, as her husband and children were killed in the Asurans bid to wipe out the Wraith's food supply, despite Woolsey's attempts to argue that the Wraith had lost twice as many Hive ships during the war as planets. In the end she voted guilty, but was outvoted 2 to 1 and the Atlantis expedition was allowed to join the Coalition. (SGA: "Inquisition")
