The Serrakin were an alien race that lived on the planet Hebridan.

Overview

The species appeared to be reptilian in origin and were Humanoid in shape. Their skin was green or brownish in skin tone and had the distinctive reptilian-like eyes. They were capable of speaking English and interacting with normal Humans. Any other aspects of their biology are unknown but they appeared to have been suspectible to Serrakin sonic technology. (SG1: "Forsaken")

The race were quite integrated with the Hebridans who mostly lived in harmony with them. They were capable of falling in love with one another, marrying and even interbreeding with Humans allowing for hybrid offspring to be born. Despite this being the case, there were some Hebridans who believed that the Serrakin were oppressing them subtlely and trying to control them. (SG1: "Space Race")

Not all Serrakin appeared to be members of the government and some members took on the profession as bounty hunters. (SG1: "Bounty")

History

The origins of the Serrakin people themselves are unknown except that thousands of years ago they came before their planet and liberated the people from the Goa'uld. After this period, the Serrakin integrated this branch of Humanity with themselves and lived in harmony though there were some exceptions. As part of this union, the Hebridans were given the advanced technology of the Serrakin race.

This suggests that they were technologically advanced to not only challenge the Goa'uld but to remove them from the Hebridan world.

Earth came into contact with the Serrakin on the planet P2X-005 when SG-1 encountered a crashed Serrakin vessel. However, the Hebridan prisoners of the ship tricked the SGC into believing that the Serrakin were a hostile race of native savages that killed their crew. The surviving members of the crew included Warrick who managed to tell SG-1 the truth and together they managed to apprehend them which began a limited level of contact between Earth and the Serrakin race. (SG1: "Forsaken")

The race did not appear to make use of the Stargate as the Hebridans criminals did not appear to know of its purpose.

Despite this, diplomatic contact between Earth and the Serrakin continued but had been slowed to a degree. Warrick unofficially allowed a level of technological exchange to occur between the two by asking Samantha Carter to help him win the race at the Loop of Kon Garat. This allowed SG-1 to visit Hebridan on a diplomatic basis. (SG1: "Space Race")

The fate of the Serrakin race remains unknown after the Ori crusade against the Milky Way galaxy which managed to conquer Hebridan. (SG1: "Flesh and Blood")
