Serpent Guards are the Jaffa elite force in the service of Apophis and members of his family, such as Klorel. The helmets of the Serpent Guards resemble giant snakes. They protect Apophis and his family from other enemy Jaffa and guard his palace. Teal'c and Bra'tac were once Serpent Guards before each became First Prime in their own time and Apophis himself wore golden Serpent Guard armor.
