"You dare steal from the sepulcher of the temple?" - ―Samantha Carter and Bra'tac of Chulak[src]
A Sepulchre was a type of holy place located on crèche worlds such as Chulak. They were kept separate from the main temple and contained a large incubation tank that would be used for all Goa'uld symbiotes. This was by Ra's design to help prevent against new breeds of traitorous Goa'uld like the Tok'ra, as if the genetic template of the larvae is deviated far enough the symbiotes can sense the shift and attack. (RPG: "Fantastic Frontiers: Stargate Season One")
Jaffa Priests would perform the sacred rite of Kadra'mal to the sepulchres when Goa'uld symbiotes needed to be transported. It is considered sacrilege to steal from the sepulchre. (RPG: "Fantastic Frontiers: Stargate Season One", SG1: "Bloodlines")
History[]
During SG-1's Return to Chulak in 1997, Captain Sam Carter and Dr. Daniel Jackson followed a procession of Jaffa priests to the sepulchre. The sepculchre was left unguarded and Sam stole a larvae from its incubation tank. Daniel then shot up the tank to kill the rest of infant Goa'ulds. (SG1: "Bloodlines")
