Senet is an ancient Egyptian board game.

History[]

Prior to its destruction in 2002, the Tok'ra base on Parva used Senet as a locking mechanism to keep Jandith's stasis jar safe. In the living quarters, a Senet board sat on top of a cabinet that held the vessel. The board was set up except for one pawn that rested on its side. The pawn was the cabinet's key and would unlock it when the pawn was waved in front of the cabinet's latches.[1] (RPG: "Field of Reeds")

Ren'al and Jandith had played Senet together. This was used as part of a clue to the location of Jandith's jar. That clue being: "J, where we played games while bored." With bored being a pun for board and it hinting to the living quarters.[2] (RPG: "Field of Reeds")

Counselor Raktor, the unofficial Unas ambassador on the Council of Haven, was fond of a game called Tia, which was vaguely reminiscent to Senet. Ambassador Ashlee Kelley of the Tau'ri asked Raktor to teach her the game.[3] (RPG: "Core Rulebook")
