Sci Fi Australia

Sci Fi Australia is an Australian satellite (cable) channel that has recently been launched.

The Sci Fi (SyFy) franchise spans across the world, including the US, the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Latin America, Italy, Russia, Poland, Romania and Benelux.

Sci-Fi as a genre[]

Sci Fi Australia is the first Australian channel to exclusively air Sci-Fi genre Television series and Movies. Sci Fi Australia has a partnership with CBS Paramount, NBC Universal & Sony Pictures Television

Shows[]

Sci Fi Australia airs the following shows; Medium, Stargate Universe, Stargate: Atlantis, Stargate SG-1, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica, The Dead Zone, Charmed, Star Trek: Enterprise and more.

It also offers special events such as marathons and contests, such as the Marathonia event which airs the first series of Warehouse 13, Buffy and Startrek.

Broadcasting[]

Sci Fi Australia is only available on the premiere Cable networks, FOXTEL & Austar, on channel 125 and 165 (for a 2-hour rewind of shows that air on channel 125) for FOXTEL Users.

Stargate: Atlantis and Stargate SG-1 air weeknights at 9:30pm AEST (possibly alternating between shows each night) With Stargate Universe ending its run only recently

Themes[]

As with most television channels, it follows a basic theme that is used for advertising and designs. Currently it uses the purple and white theme, contoured line design planet and purple curved font. It uses clouds to display its advertisements for next up shows, dissipating into purple clouds into the Sci Fi logo (along with the basic light purple fog and purple birds flying in the background. Advertisements for shows to be shown later on are usually given a sort of humorous approach, a serious approach or an adventorous approach (such as with stargate, displaying a 'out of this world' style). Currently it has not changed its theme as with other channels often do.
