She enrolled in the Academy on Galar and, after obtaining a post as a government scientist, she was living in much nicer accommodations than her former colleagues, due to her success in the Galaran memory project. Once married to her fellow scientist colleague, Dr. Marell, the two separated around two years before SG-1 visited their planet. (SG1: "Collateral Damage")

When she met Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell, the two quickly became friends. she was murdered and all evidence pointed to Mitchell, but the reality was that her estranged husband Marell murdered her and was able to frame Mitchell using the Galaran memory device, due to the brief relationship Reya had with him. (SG1: "Collateral Damage")
