Renal failure is a medical condition when kidney function is severely impaired. Both kidneys attacked simultaneously by the disease and then make insufficient filter toxins and waste from the blood here. There are different series of health problems that can cause some form of kidney failure. It is described as a decrease in glomerular filtration rate. And a transfusion from the matched individual can new kidney to replace those old ones.

Renal failure can relieve if you take blood diluted medicines. In 2010, Dale Volker suffered to renal failure but was cured when Ronald Greer sacrificed one of his kidneys. (SGU: "Hope")

Alternate timeline[]

  • In an alternate timeline, after being stranded on Novus, Dr. Dale Volker suffered from renal failure. With the limited resources available to them, the Destiny crew were unable to successfully treat the condition and unlike his main timeline self, Volker died of it. (SGU: "Epilogue")
