Ra's empire was an interstellar domain in the Kaliam Galaxy formed by the last surviving member of an ancient species, Ra, along with multiple other species, Humans served as slaves, Setim as engineers and scientists and numerous other unspecified sentient species fulfilled other capacities. It was based on the moon and the planet of Tuat. Ra had elevated the most vicious and ruthless of those species to the status of more minor figures in the Egyptian pantheon. The empire came to be dominated by descendants of Earthen humans.
Ra's empire was divided into several castes, the administrative mass of Ra's small empire, which was led by Thoth, Ra's accountant and lieutenant-godling, it handled the logistics and presumable day-to-day running of the polity. The warrior caste of the Horus Guards, who oversaw the slaves and lesser warriors known as Ramses guards. Another component of Ra's empire was composed of masters of technology. Led by the Ptah godling, these were the personnel who tuned the spacecraft engines, built the udajeet gliders, who fashioned raw quartz-crystal into Ra's instruments of wonder—including the blast-lances the guards using to war and conquer. Then there were the lieutenant-godlings who oversaw and led the Horus and Ramses warriors as well as ruling over the final component, the vast class of slave miners and similar menial labors who performed unglamorous but quite essential tasks in Ra's empire.
