Porta was a Sudarian and a member of the original Quindosim who were tasked by their people to protect the Potentia on the planet Sudaria. However, due to Wraith cullings, he and another of the Quindosim named Astrum became the last two surviving members some ten thousand years before the Atlantis expedition visited Dagan. Though the two tried to make sure the Potentia would remain safe, they too were taken away by a Wraith culling beam. (SGA: "The Brotherhood")
