Poochinsky was a popular television series on Earth about a talking dog who solves crimes. The Studio Executive for Wormhole X-Treme! used to work for this show. It lasted for a hundred episodes. (SG1: "Wormhole X-Treme!")

- In the real world, Poochinski was a 1990 unsold television pilot. NBC decided not to pick up the series, but subsequently did air the pilot, on July 9, 1990.
