The Poligrans are a near-human species that are the residents of Poligra.

History[]

Given their planet was far from the center of Kali's domain, she generally ignored their development so long as they posed no threat to her rule. Her forces hadn't visited for generations, which left the Jaffa foreign to the Poligrans when they did swarm the planet when it became the frontier of Kali's war against Apophis and later Ba'al.

They used to have several pre-industrial nations, but battles between the System Lords bombed the Poligrans back to the stone age, with only remnants of cities that survived. They retreated to the wilderness. Their cities and villages provided strong points and fortresses, that the Jaffa took pains to occupy such locations. Other than that they subjugated the citizens of those locations, the Jaffa had no interest in the Poligrans as a whole. Smaller and more remoted villages carried on life as best as they could, while also having been occasionally inundated with refugees of more sophisticated areas of their planet. Culture[]

The Poligrans worshipped Kali, though she was a remote goddess. Most worship was disorganized and casual, but even those who had fled their homes and had taken refuge deep in the wilderness mountain had at least token faith. Kali's Jaffa capitalized on this remnant faith and recruited the Poligrans in a holy crusade against the forces of the "demon" Ba'al. Such recruits were considered little more than canon fodder and died by the thousands in each engagement. (RPG: "Living Gods: Stargate System Lords")
