Pierre Bernard is a graphic designer and comedian for the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. He worked in the same capacity for O'Brien's previous show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, on which he was featured in a segment titled "Pierre Bernard's Recliner of Rage". In this segment, he complained at length about things that angered him, usually relating to comics, science-fiction or other "geeky" topics.

During one of these segments, Pierre complained about Stargate SG-1; specifically that Daniel Jackson's return to the series in season 7 meant less action sequences in the series. When SG-1 show-runners saw this segment, they offered Pierre a cameo role in the series.

Pierre portrayed the character O'Brien, named so as a reference to Conan O'Brien, in the episode "Zero Hour". His experience on-set was recorded and aired on Late Night, including a clip in which an off-screen Daniel Jackson shoots and kills Pierre.

He was invited back for another cameo in the episode "200", in which he plays Zombie O'Brien and is shot and "killed" by Cameron Mitchell.
