A pardon is a government decision to allow a person to be relieved of some or all of the legal consequences resulting from a criminal conviction.

In 2002, First Minister Valis offered Jonas Quinn a pardon and a return to his position on Langara in exchange for his spying on Dr. Kieran. (SG1: "Shadow Play")
In 2003, in exchange for information on a supposed trove of Ancient technology, Harry Maybourne requested a Presidential pardon, suggesting that the departing President William Jefferson Clinton would be willing to give him one since his term was coming to an end. Though Maybourne was pardoned, he appeared to think that he would still be arrested if he was returned to Earth. (SG1: "Paradise Lost")
